The cologne you wear says a lot about you. Like a lot. A LOT A LOT! Are you the guy who douses his body in Axe? If so, stop reading, go shower off and try and stay away from any open flames. Going off of that, a big issue with cologne that I have noticed is that men tend to spray way too much. We don’t want to smell you after you’ve left the room, gents.
The problem is that not all colognes are created equal, some are stronger than others. Furthermore, our noses get used to a scent after a while, and stop registering it as much. So just because you may not be able to smell you, doesn’t mean that no one else can.
I find that a spritz or two on the neck will do the job just fine. Because my philosophy is this: You want to have an enticing scent that someone can smell only when they’re close to you. Cologne is an intimate thing, good sirs. And it’s not for her or him. It’s for you.
This isn’t your freshman homecoming, good sirs. There is no need to raid your father’s medicine cabinet and dump half of his Polo cologne on yourself with the hope of that dance floor makeout session…High school was kinda tough…
That’s why we have come up with some crisp fall scents here at Classic Sir that will accentuate your natural musk without making you a walking canister of tear gas.
Tom Ford Noir
D.S. & Durga for J. Crew
The Americana wood chopping homestead cologne.
This cologne is for you gents who prefer that rustic pacific northwest woody environment, like you just came in from chopping wood, and nursing a baby deer back to health…if that has a scent.
Burberry Brit Rhythm
For the youthful sir who has a little Brit in him. Take out your paper boy cap and your Barbour vest and spray some of this.
Dark leather and juniper berries. This fragrance will give you that seductive mystery you’ve been trying to get since you learned who James Bond is.
These are some examples of how you can spice up your inner Classic Sir this fall. Whether you want that clean, on the beach vibe, or that dark and mysterious man of mystery air to you. Just remember, good fellows, while a cologne is for others to enjoy, it’s really for you. It’s your signature, your sign off. And it’s there to make you feel confident.
Enjoy your new scent, and as always,
Cheers, good sirs.
